Hey ya'll! Thanks for checking out Em Eliz Events! Until I get to meet you face-to-face, here's a little bit about me...

I’m a fair skinned, Jesus lovin’, blondie with a love for all things Cali! My best attempt at living a Cali life here in my hometown of Richmond, Va., is grabbing Shyndigz to-go and heading to the James for a sunset.  I am a creative! As a creative, I live for “artsy” and keeping up with the latest trends. I am an alumni of Christopher Newport University-Go Captains! I am a slight softie when it comes to romantic, passionate love stories. “You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” (If you can name the movie where this quote is found...we’re already off to a great start!)  

 

Being on the go, taking in new adventures, spending lots of time with my family, my friends, my golden doodle puppy named Winston,  and enjoying the thrill of spontaneity, are a few of the things that I love most. Despite loving to stay busy, I believe in the importance of slowing down to treasure special moments and create the best of memories with those I love! 

My passion for Weddings sparked when I discovered Bridal magazines. They were the ULTIMATE reading material for long drives. It was a dream come true when one of my first real jobs was being a Bridal Attendant. It was in that position where I learned the crucial and unspoken needs of a Bride on her special day. Whether it meant bustling her dress before she hit the dance floor, calming all of her nerves before she walked down the aisle, fluffing her dress for the perfect aisle picture or making sure the Ceremony and Reception went off without a hitch....She could count on me!

 

My 7+ years of experience in the event planning industry, continued post-graduation from College, when I was hired as an Events Manager. This position expanded my knowledge of event planning to include the designing and successful execution of various

banquet events. 

In April of 2020, the unfortunate job circumstances that many faced with COVID-19, also impacted me. After taking lots of extra time in thought and prayer to figure out what was next, I knew that planning and coordinating Weddings was where my gifting and abilities shined brightest. I’ve always been someone who loves to take charge and push myself towards greater. Starting a business had always been in the back of my mind but I decided that COVID-19 would be my kickstart to making that a reality.

Not sure where to start? Feel like you have no time to plan your big day? Allow us to take the lead! We promise a stress free planning experience with consistent communication from beginning to end!

  • Initial meeting to discuss wedding visions, goals, etc.

  • Vision board creation.

  • Planner will provide Wedding Checklist document to keep the planning on track as well as a Finances Spreadsheet.

  • Management of wedding budget.

  • Accompaniment to three venue tours or will provide assistance with final venue selection.

  • Vendor Referral.

  • Timely check-ins and updates will be provided throughout the entire planning process.

  • Will handle all RSVP's.

  • Will maintain all vendor bookings & contracts.

  • Timeline creation + distribution to all vendors.

  • Will create a floorplan diagram for Reception space.

  • Rehearsal + Ceremony Coordination

Luckily, Emily had it all under control. She was patient and flexible and made our day special and beautiful! She was even so thoughtful that she packed us a to-go bag of food and drinks for us to take back to our hotel after the wedding. She kept us updated with the timeline throughout our reception and made sure we had everything we needed.
